Nicholas lives with his single mother who is a food vendor, selling food on the street late at night. She is a good mother and a hardworking woman, but cannot earn enough income to support her children. Unfortunately, they live in an unsafe place, so she is forced to take her children with her since she doesn’t have family to help with caring for the children. She has sought out the support of VCM and has requested Nicholas be placed in foster care with us so that he can attend school at C&K Primary. Nicholas's favorite color is red, he likes to play football, (Soccer) and his current favorite food is rice. He would benefit from a sponsor who can make a longer-term commitment. However, because his situation is urgent, a 1-month scholarship to cover immediate needs and school fees is also appreciated until a permanent education sponsor can be found. Abdullah lives with his mother and his older sister. Abdullah’s father abandoned the family, his mother had been struggling to care for her two children. Abdullah's mother works collecting plastic bottles with the help of her two children, to sale as scrap. Unfortunately, she is not able to earn a substantial enough income to care for her children. Therefore, she has sought out the assistance of VCM to care for her son and provide him with an education. As we move forward with his placement, we will learn more about him and will be able to share that detail with potential sponsors. Abdullah will reside in foster care at VCM and will be attending C&K Primary. He would benefit from a sponsor who can make a longer-term commitment.
